Notes
using Twine, but any hypertext or linked platform can work as well (Wix, PowerPoint, Prezi, etc.)
create links by writing [[this]] or [[that]]
PUBLISH TO FILE to save, IMPORT FROM FILE to continue working on last version
in Twine we see the map of the linked nodes, but when we open the HTML file it will be in a normal story-telling format
can add media (images/music) and change formatting by adding HTML code
What did you do?
created a nonlinear narrative story with a main character, a motif, characters' background and a realistic setting
the reader is the main character. Their choices will determine the fate of the character
made 25 nodes that each connects to at least 1 other node
added pictures and sounds in certain nodes
What tools or skills did it require?
creative writing
logical understanding of the Twine environment
HTML coding for images and sound
What did you learn? How could you adapt it to other projects or contexts?
HTML coding: I understand the basic of adding images or sounds to an HTML file. This will be useful if I want to create some interactive digital media
Nonlinear environment: I learned about the structure of nonlinear stories and I could create some in my fun time. It can be an interesting game to teach children about things through choices that they make (I work part-time as a tutor)
