Exhibit 8
Hoping for better days
I saw some photographers do video chat photoshoots during the quarantine. Others have recently started shooting in real life again, but while wearing a mask and maintaining a distance with the models. When I first heard of the latter, I was so excited that I called my friend and we went to a nearby park to shoot a few pictures. We went in our own cars and stayed far from each other the whole time, and it was fun to interact despite not being physically interacting. Normally we would switch roles in front and behind the camera, but for safety reasons, I was the photographer and she was the model the entire time since the camera belonged to me. This is the first shoot I've done in months.
I ended up choosing this picture because it seems like she is looking into the future and looking for something nice. I think most of us just can't wait for Covid-19 to be over and dream of time-traveling to the future where things are better. I used Snapseed to enhance the colors because I wanted the bright blue sky to be saturated saturated enough to give a slight dream-like feeling. Then I decided to totally make it dream-like by changing it into a cartoon using Cartoonize. It's a bright dream of hope for the future.
