My name is Ellfie, and I'm an artist. Art is my journey through inspiration, creativity, boredom, sadness... anything. It is my way of expression. The art I create is my voice. Sometimes that voice conveys strength, other times it cries in despair. Occasionally it mumbles in confusion. Regardless of its sound, art inspires me to aim higher, to learn from my mistakes, and to feel accomplished. I thirst for the feeling of happiness and belonging that creativity brings forth. I always follow my gut feeling, desires, and inspirations; spontaneity is my path. I do not know what shape my voice will take by the end of the journey, but I believe in the process. Welcome to my voice.
This exhibition is about Covid-19. In an era of people being confined at home, losing motivation, and giving up productivity, I believe it is the best time to challenge ourselves. Through different forms of media, I cover the good and evil of the pandemic, with either a touch of beauty or discomfort. Portraits, videos, recordings, games, memes... Covid-19 is reflected in each of those forms. Today, my voice speaks the echo of human nature -- the sympathetic, cooperative human, as much as the selfish, prejudiced human. Will you recognize yourself in my art?
